Programme and List of Speakers

We’re working hard to put together a genuinely amazing three day programme.  Here’s a basic run-down of what will be happening:

Inspiring speakers: high-profile advocates, celebrities, international and NZ change-makers and climate experts,  top campaign organisers and more. Speakers include Lucy Lawless, Bill McKibben, Len Brown and more. Check out the current list of confirmed speakers here.

Skills training workshops: Daily workshop sessions covering a diverse range of skills in leadership, organisation and climate, including: project management, powerful communication,  campaign strategy, UN climate talks, climate science, leadership elements and more. Some workshops are still to be confirmed, but check out the current confirmed workshops here.

Regional breakouts: Regional breakouts will bring attendees from each separate region across NZ and the Pacific Islands together to plan how they can best take their new-found knowledge and inspiration back to their communities.

Action! All participants will participate in a huge awareness raising action on the final day as an incredible end to an inspiring event.

Massive 2013 Campaign Launch: We’ll be partnering with other organisations before and after Power Shift on a massive new campaign calling for climate action.  Over the 3 days we’ll all work together to shape the campaign and then publicly launch it.

Making new connections: one of the best things to come out of previous Power Shift events are the new networks and friendships.

Fun! There will be heaps of fun things to get involved with, from music sessions, performances and more. On the Saturday night we will run a free music gig for Power Shift participants with some of Auckland and NZ’s best musicians!
