About Us

At TelstraClear, connecting people is at the heart of what we do. As the second largest full service communications provider in New Zealand, with around 1300 employees, and customers and operations spanning the country, TelstraClear is truly a part of community life.

Our corporate citizenship vision is to help create positive communities within which our children and youth can thrive, foster reciprocity in our relationships and to use our technologies to enhance the way people live and work. We are also improving the environmental outcomes of our operations and offerings, and building a culture to support our aim to make TelstraClear a great place to work.

For us, corporate citizenship is about good business.

We connect more than 200,000 residential customers across New Zealand and own and operate more than 6,000km of fibre optic cable network, extending from Whangarei to Invercargill. About one in every six Kiwi companies are TelstraClear customers, from sole traders through to international companies. We are also entrusted with fulfilling the telecommunications needs of organisations that protect New Zealand’s borders, including the New Zealand Defence Force, Customs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

We’ve been voted the Best Internet Service Provider by the readers of Netguide in their annual People’s Choice Web Awards in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Under the leadership of CEO Dr Allan Freeth, we have revitalised our approach to Corporate Citizenship and as a result have developed a new, company-wide strategy and framework. Our key Corporate Citizenship issues, that comprise our framework, are:

• Social Impact: strategic community investments and partnerships, disaster response, social inclusion and cyber safety.

• Environmental Impact: managing carbon emissions and energy efficiency, e-waste, recycling and promoting ICT to deliver sustainability.

• Great place to work: enhancing employee engagement, diversity, health, safety and wellbeing, and community involvement.

These three components are woven together with our underlying commitment to responsible business practice and governance.
