3M’s tradition of innovation is legendary. So when it was time to move premises, 3M ensured the new environment encouraged creativity and sustainability. It chose to create a NZGBC Greenstar building adopting innovative building and interior materials. InterfaceNZ carpet tiles were chosen as the flooring, providing an innovative modular solution with cool designs, life-time value and low upfront spend.
The carpet tiles used in this installation had 50 percent (by weight) recycled content and are themselves 100 percent recyclable. The tiles were calculated to have produced 43 tonnes of carbon: from production and installation to cleaning and end-of-life recycling. Through Interface’s Cool Carpet programme, as verified by SGS Worldwide, these 43 tonnes of GHG were permanently offset.
