Introducing MegaCity, BMW's new electric vehicle.
The BMW group will soon to announce more details of a fully-electric, ‘zero-emission’ production car, having now partnered with SB LiMotive as the supplier of state-of-the-art lithium-ion storage technology. BMW Group is currently field-testing a fully-electric car, the MINI E, in the US, Great Britain and Germany as part of its strategy for zero-emissions mobility. BMW’s first fully-electric “Mega City” vehicle is expected go into full, serial production within the next five years. This model will be the precursor to a whole family of ‘zero-emission’ (or extremely low-emission) single and double-track vehicles.
BMW is already credited with having reduced fuel consumption of its total fleet between 1995 and 2008 by more than 25 per cent. In 2007, BMW also launched the world’s first hydrogen-powered production car, the Hydrogen 7. Employing combustion engine technology, the Hydrogen 7 emits nothing but water vapour when running in hydrogen mode.
Look forward to this. I think they're announcing it at the Frankfurt car show later this month
This is total rubbish, for more reasons than I can be bothered writing about at the moment.
