Our aim: TelstraClear aims to recognise the contribution that communications services makes to peoples lives, community wellbeing and local economic advancement. We believe in using our technology to enhance peoples lives, and maximising the value and reach of our technology to ensure access for everyone.
Our commitment to making communications services accessible and affordable extends to our older customers primarily in the 55 plus age bracket, through our relationship with SeniorNet.
Our community partner: SeniorNet.
Our actions: SeniorNet is a unique community with Seniors teaching Seniors about computing, the internet and technology. TelstraClear recognises the important role SeniorNet plays in the community, in giving people an opportunity to learn and connect through the internet at over 80 Learning Centres, and in their homes, throughout New Zealand.
Our footprint: TelstraClear proudly supports the SeniorNet Learning Centres and helps the community members kick-start their online experience through special offers for members and by providing much needed funding to the Learning Centres through a rebate system via the New Zealand Federation of SeniorNet Societies. TelstraClear also assists the Federation by hosting conference calls when required free of charge.
Our next steps: TelstraClear’s James Smith is continually looking at new ways to connect with the SeniorNet community, through education and training in our technologies.
